KitaCareMY
KitaCareMY is a crisis response initiative launched by DHRRA Malaysia to address the urgent need for a long-term resource pooling and cooperation for marginalized and vulnerable communities affected by pandemics and disasters. It was mooted by the ability to coordinate the crisis response initiative known as COVIDCAREMY, launched in March 2020 to meet the immediate needs of communities affected by the pandemic and the ensuing control measures.
KitaCareMY is built on DHRRA Malaysia’s and cooperation with several other grassroot Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) & Non-Governmental Individuals (NGIs) community outreach expertise and experience and with the long-term effect of a crisis. The initiative will further focus on f uplifting and improving their socio-economic status in its aftermath of disaster. Equal emphasis is also placed in ensuring collaboration and knowledge exchange with local and global crisis response providers, particularly CSOs and other community organizations, to ensure effective sustainable support is available to the affected communities, not only during, but also beyond the pandemic.
